With great changes occurring in the industry, our corporate strength is being put to the test.

Procos, based in Italy, is a leading manufacturer of APIs and GMP-compliant pharmaceutical intermediates – products it provides to pharmaceutical companies around the world. Procos joined the CBC Group in 2006.

Our industry is currently experiencing tremendous change--so much that in a few short years we are sure to be faced with unprecedented challenges. To achieve our key objective of sustainable growth, we need to constantly improve our technology and boost R&D productivity, comply with increasingly strict regulations and properly address our responsibility to safety and the environment.

Procos is based in Novara (about 50 km from Milan) and its facility has a surface of 110,000 square meters. Throughout its long history, this plant has received numerous accreditations, including AIFA (since 1952), FDA (since 1982), and ISO14001 (since 2001). These certifications are a testament to our drive to guarantee the highest quality for our customers.

Pursuing innovation

Procos has the power to innovate in a myriad of fields.

Since becoming a member of the CBC Group, Procos has consistently and vigorously pursued innovation. Without losing our core identity, we have also worked to reshape our corporate culture into a global entity. We have restructured and expanded our sales network by establishing subsidiaries in key markets, including the U.S.A. and the E.U. At the same time we have worked to improve our management structure to offer a quicker response capability and flexibility, and the ability to answer to market needs from a global perspective. We have also boosted our service platform and greatly enhanced our technical capabilities - achieving the highest GMP and HSE standards.

Over the past three years we have implemented an initial investment cycle to refurbish and construct a range of facilities including our Finishing Department, a new 400-square-meter, state-of-the-art laboratory, a Kilo Lab equipped with cutting-edge equipment, combustors for purifying flammable gases, and new cogeneration turbines designed to improve overall energy efficiency.

Future challenges

Never willing to settle for past successes, we are always looking for new challenges to shape our future.

Our Group's slogan is “Dream Together.” It represents the spirit that we adopted from the CBC Group, and at the same time, it's the spirit that colors our day-to-day activities. Because we deeply understand this philosophy as a team and implement it on a daily basis, it has become a conduit of success. By sharing our dreams, we can work to create a prosperous future. If we can consistently maintain our dynamism and our passion for our work, we can build a foundation for sustainable growth.

Seeking to expand our sales network, our future plans are to accelerate the pace of our advancement into emerging markets such as India and China as well as boosting our presence in the large scale markets, such as the U.S. and the E.U.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) needs to be constantly monitored. Currently, we are preparing to add OHSAS18001 certification to our list of accreditations. We are also working to boost our technological platforms, keeping new field products such as HPAPI in our sights.

Moving forward, Procos is focused on increasing manufacturing capacity. Our new plants will be equipped with multi-purpose facilities, innovative technologies and advanced automation. We will continue to offer the utmost in reliability to our customers, with regard to both quantity and quality.

As CEO of Procos, my goal is to achieve sustainable growth in five years. That will be the 10th anniversary of the birth of CBC-Procos. As a company, our intense initiative and motivation—as well as our determination and undaunted passion—are essential to realizing the spirit of “Dream Together.” As we experience the joy of achieving each of our objectives, I know we will enthusiastically advance toward our main objective: sustainable growth.
